West Texas Tough

Cotton that is bred for West Texas. Tested for West Texas. Made in West Texas.

Proven to Perform

West Texas is unlike anywhere else. To make it here, you have to be tough. So, when we say our cotton is West Texas Tough, we mean it. Because we don’t just develop our varieties with Texas in mind. These varieties are bred specifically for the region and are tested and made right here in West Texas.

Created for West Texas

High elevation. Low water tables. Limited rainfall. The threat of sandstorms. To succeed in West Texas, you have to be resilient, resourceful, hardworking and performance-driven. That’s what it means to be West Texas Tough.

Bred for West Texas

We put our cotton to the test in the very soil it was bred for through our premier testing and commercialization program. This process ensures the seed we develop can perform in all of West Texas’ unique growing conditions.

Tested in West Texas

The only way to ensure the seed we develop can perform under all the unique growing conditions of West Texas is to test it in West Texas soil. Every pre-commercial variety line is grown four to five seasons before it’s even considered to be West Texas Tough.

Made in West Texas

Our state-of-the-art facility in Lubbock, Texas, is a sign of our commitment to the West Texas region. Not only are we developing high-performing cotton seed for West Texas growers, but the plant also gives back to the community through employment, charity and sustainability.

Proven Again and Again

No two seasons in West Texas are the same. We take the time to ensure our tough varieties’ performance —
anywhere from five to 10 years. After more than a decade of working on our West Texas Tough varieties, we are getting real results.
Our lineup today offers improved genetics and traits specifically for West Texas — both on dryland acres and irrigated fields.

Our New Product Evaluator (NPE) Program is the final testing phase and sets Deltapine apart from the competition. Growers across the region evaluate the final pre-commercial variety candidates in their own large-acre trial, under their own management and field conditions. The data they collect determines which varieties are tried-and-true West Texas Tough.
